Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Urigami collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the site or the webOS TV application, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Urigami does not ask you to create an account and does not intentionally collect personally identifying information. Our own servers keep minimal operational logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are retained for a short period and then deleted.
2. Cookies and Local Storage
The Urigami web app uses your browser's local storage to remember simple preferences, such as the last position of videos you have watched, so that "Continue Watching" works on your next visit. These values never leave your device.
We also store a single value (urigami.consent.v1) that records whether you have accepted or declined third-party cookies. Third-party services we use (see below) may set their own cookies only after you grant consent. You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser's settings.
3. Third-Party Services
Google AdSense. We may use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads or learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
In-stream video ads. When you play a video, a short video advertisement may play before or during playback. These ads are delivered by third-party advertising partners using the industry-standard VAST protocol. To request and count an ad, the ad partner receives your IP address, browser user-agent, and the domain of this service; we do not send them your name, email address, device advertising identifier, or your viewing history. The ad partner may set its own cookies or similar identifiers when an ad is delivered; their own privacy policy governs that data. Ad frequency is limited using a value stored locally on your device — we do not build advertising profiles. These video ads appear on the website and inside the Urigami apps.
Your ad choices. Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask for your consent before showing video ads; if you decline, videos play without ads. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of ad-related data sharing wherever you are. You can review or reset your choice in the Privacy choices section below (also reachable from the app).
Google Analytics. We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Analytics cookies (such as _ga) collect information like page views, referrer, device type, and approximate location. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Search engine crawlers. Urigami may be crawled and indexed by Google Search and other search engines. These services have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Third-party video. Videos and thumbnails may be fetched from third-party platforms; their policies apply to any data they collect.
4. Your Consent Choices
On your first visit from a web browser we show a consent banner. Analytics and display-advertising scripts only load after you click Accept. If you click Decline — or close the site without choosing — no analytics or display-advertising scripts are loaded. In-stream video ads (section 3) are part of video playback and may play regardless of this choice; they set no cookies of ours and use only the data described above.
You can change your choice at any time:
This clears your stored preference and shows the banner again so you can accept or decline anew. In the TV and mobile apps the banner is not shown and analytics scripts are never loaded there; in-stream video ads (section 3) may still play before or during videos.
5. Children's Privacy
Urigami is a family-friendly site, but it is not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of the "sale" or sharing of personal information. Since Urigami does not create user profiles, most of these requests amount to clearing local storage in your browser and opting out of third-party advertising as described above. For additional requests, contact us at the address below.
7. Data Retention
Operational server logs are retained for a short period (typically less than 90 days) and then automatically deleted. Local-storage values remain on your device until you clear them. Third-party services retain data according to their own policies.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the site, including HTTPS transport. No system is perfectly secure, and you use the service at your own risk.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above. Your continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Privacy Choices
Ad preferences: you can allow or block video ads at any time.
Video ads: not set — will ask before the first ad.
